VPS hosting in Sweden — everything you need to know

What is a VPS?

A VPS (Virtual Private Server) is a virtual server — your own, isolated slice of a physical server with guaranteed resources (CPU cores, RAM and disk) that are yours alone. You get full root or administrator access and can install exactly what you want, just like on your own server, but at a fraction of the cost.

Unlike ordinary shared web hosting, you don’t share resources with other customers in the same way, which gives more consistent performance and full control over your environment.

VPS, web hosting or a dedicated server — which should you choose?

Web hosting is the simplest and cheapest option and is enough for most websites, but you share the server and have limited control. A dedicated server gives maximum performance but costs more and requires more administration. A VPS is the middle ground: your own guaranteed resources, full freedom to install and configure, and the ability to scale up as your needs grow — without the price of a whole physical server.

If you need root access, your own software, a game server, a development environment or a VPN — a VPS is usually the right choice.

What can you use a VPS for?

A VPS is versatile. Common uses include running websites and e-commerce, applications and APIs, databases, your own mail server, game servers, a private VPN, automation and bots, plus development and test environments. Because you have full control, you decide the operating system, software and security yourself.

How to choose the right VPS

Look at four things: the number of vCPUs (CPU cores) for compute power, the amount of RAM for how much can run at once, fast NVMe disk for storage and I/O, and the network and traffic allowance. Start with a plan that matches your needs today — you can scale up later without moving anything.

Whether you choose Linux (for example Ubuntu, Debian or Rocky) or Windows Server is up to you at checkout.

Swedish data center, full root access and scalability

Our VPSes run in a Swedish data center — which gives low latency for Swedish visitors and keeps your data within Sweden and the EU, good from a GDPR perspective. You get full root or administrator access from day one and can install and configure exactly as you like.

A control panel lets you reboot, reinstall the operating system and manage the server yourself, around the clock — and scale up resources as traffic grows.

Affordable VPS without compromising on performance

We believe in honest, transparent pricing: low monthly prices with no hidden fees, fast NVMe storage and real guaranteed resources. You get Swedish support to help you get started, and flexible terms. See the plans and prices above and pick the one that fits your project.

Get started in minutes

Getting started is fast: choose a plan and operating system, complete the order, and your VPS is provisioned automatically and ready in minutes. Then you log in as root or administrator and start building. If you need help along the way, Swedish support is here.
